Bacon Preparation

While the most common method of preparation for bacon is frying in a skillet, I believe that a method described by Cooks Illustrated is more appropriate for the contest. The method is called Oven-Fried Bacon, which takes slighly longer (6-12 minutes dep. on thickness), but results in more consistent bacon and easier cleanup when combined with aluminium foil.

MJ Here, My preferred method of cooking bacon are as follows

  • Broiled (pan fried if in a pinch) in the oven for 7 minutes with brown sugar and korean red pepper flakes sprinkled on top. Served over Jjook.

  • In Kimchi Jjigeh (Kimchi boiled with sliced onions, squash, bacon, squash,

  • Warm Spinach salad with real bacon sprinkled on top

  • Scallops wrapped in bacon
